KINDERGARTEN, GRADE ONE AND GRADE TWO MUSIC CLASSES
Fun and Challenging
2018 - The Kindergartens are learning about opposites in music: fast-slow, loud-quiet, high-low. They are experiencing beat and rhythm through body percussion and movement. Listening skills are improving and many of them have learned the difference between their talking and singing voices. Playing hand-held percussion is a favourite activity. They are learning the names of the instruments through song and play.

Grades 1 and 2 had a great time with our October songs. A favourite activity was playing Night at the Museum using the classical piece, "Fossils" from "Carnival of the Animals." They had to recognize rondo form which is ABACA. The kids had to move like dinosaurs during the "A" sections and freeze during "B" and "C" when the security guards came out to check what was going on!

BUCKET DRUMMING
The bucket drums had to go back to the district so another school could use them. :( But, we're moving on to learning the names of pitches on the treble cleff and how many beats different notes get to prepare to read REAL MUSIC! The kids are really enjoying playing games to reinforce this.
Students have access to music games on-line. Please keep checking your e-mail for the username and password to musicplayonline.com
